Let me start off by saying, Singapore is an island. Like a 16 mile by like 14 mile island... and Bukit Timah is the longest and oldest road in singapore...
"Bukit Timah is one of the earliest roads in Singapore. The 25-km long Bukit Timah Road, the longest road in Singapore, running north and south of the island, takes its name from this hill. The road to Kranji was completed in 1845. Apparently, the area was so infested with tigers that it constituted a serious threat to human life. In 1860, nearly 200 people were reported to have been killed by tigers in and about the gambier and pepper plantations." (thank you yahoo)
Well, I live off of Bukit Timah. I decided on saturday I was going to go exploring singapore all on my own.... yeppp.... one MINOR problem... I dont speak Chinese... well anything other than how are you and thank you.... nor do I know the Singapore bus routes. So I walked all around Orchard Road... then hopped on the bus to China town.... Im thinking I still havent seen the "China Town" that I was looking for... but I spent about an hour wondering around by myself... as I decided I was going to head home.. I saw on a sign that the 851 bus goes to Bukit Timah. Perfect..... here are some pics from Orchard Road. And then myself 'glistening
afer my million mile walk ahha
Yep um Not so much. It dropped me off on Bukit Timah... so I started walking, and recognizing things along the way that made me feel like I was almost home, like the Munk place... a marked... the Alliance of France... different stuff. I texted Sammi the whole time and she kept saying "oh youre almost there...." After an hour and a half, I got a taxi...he said I had walked like about 3 KM... and had 4 more to go! Needless to say... I will be getting an english bus route, taking a cab or driver from this point out... but if you need to know where something is on Bukit Timah.... I probably know!
China town was cool... I wanted to see all of the old temples and things, and didnt quite find them... so I'm doing my homework for this saturday! Here are a few pics though!
Today, Aiden had a photo shoot with his agent, ha. I didnt know but he is one of the Johnson and Johnson babies of Asia... (pictures coming soon..Ruby said she has a few here somewhere) but he had another photoshoot for something else today... he did soooo great! We controlled his diva moments and got the pics! lol
Tonight (Tues night...) Ruby's parents are still here from malaysia... she made soup, like mix veg, corn, a spicey chicken dish, and baked yellow fin in this spicey sauce and rice (of course) sooo good.. there was one thing I didnt take part in, it was mini baked fish... head included.. and u have to pop it open to eat, and take out the bones... not sooo much! But everything else was AMAZZZING! Tomorrow Aiden and I are off to Turf city, like last week, where he played in the balls and went down the slides!!!! Sooooo see ya!

Nancee, It's great to see you are doing well in Singapore. Ellen and Walter keep me posted. I love that you met some people from Louisiana! Make sure they tell you that 85 degrees and 65% humidity is delightful. You should come to Baton Rouge in August. Try 90 with 95% humidity. Embrace it, it's great for your skin!
